My opinion is if you like something, do it. If you like to wear it, do so. Just because it came from a different culture doesn't mean that its a closed option. After all, how much of our modern clothes came from other cultures? The night robe is based off the yukata style. If people don't like it, then they don't like it. But then again, I've learned not to care what people say about me.
