Because if you write in the first person past tense...you can't really say what they are thinking in that very moment....I dunno, it's just hard to write, so I switched to present. I'll rewrite it all later. Yeah, this whole chapter is basically bits pinned together and hoping it worked. I didn't but I needed to put something out there. Thanks for the constructive comments!
