Anyone eat these as a kid? We called them  "yellow clover" and chewed on the sour stalks like they were candy.

I looked them up today. They are called, according to wiki: Oxalis pes-caprae; Bermuda buttercup, African wood-sorrel, Bermuda sorrel, Buttercup oxalis, Cape sorrel, English weed, Goat's-foot, Sourgrass, Soursob, Soursop

While they are edible in small quantities, what makes them sour, oxalic acid, is actually toxic.

WHY WAS I EATING THIS STUFF.

'Cause the tasty things are always poison, duh. I thought everyone knew that. (And yes I would have commented on this post anyways. My mom does a lot of gardening and the things that I know now about the fruits and veggies we eat...)

Actually, yes, I ate a shit-load of those. Maybe that's why I am the I am today, but they are dang tasty. I still pluck one up here and there and munch it if I see one.

The only I stopped was because someone told me they had spider eggs, and I'm phobic to spiders so it creeped me out for a long time. Now I just check to make sure nothing's there...

Death by tasty flower.

I'm for it.
