HORSEY BABY TIME
Jun. 8th, 2009 10:29 pmEEEEEEE~ Desdemona, our Friesian mare, just started showing signs she's gonna foal soon. Like, tonight at the earliest and in a few days at the lastest.
It was funny to see my mom run through the house yelling "WE GOT WAX ON THE NIPPLES!" I went from thinking she got a full-body wax of some kind (urgk) until finally she got the words "Dezzy" and "BABIEZ!" out.
So we went out to check on her and wrap her tail. Dana checked her teats and accidentally squirted me with horse milk. Ew. Then she proceeded to taste it to see if it was sweet or salty, to figure out how soon the baby was coming. Double ew.
TL;DR: OMG EXPECTING HORSEY BABIES IN THE MORNING LIKE CHRISTMAS PRESENTS BUT WITH FURRY BABIES!

Date: 2009-06-09 04:32 pm (UTC)Ahem. My family breeds Friesians, which are reeeeaaallly pretty black horsies from the Netherlands.
So far we got:
Desdemona, her baby, Coco Chanel (her other baby), Gauguin, Lyxandre, Rense, and then the foxtrotters Traveler and Bentley. And then we have Gazelle, who is technically not ours.
PICTURES SHALL BE FORTHCOMING.

Date: 2009-06-09 05:26 pm (UTC)Originally we were just stud people but ever since mom got Desdemona, who is a high-ranking mare, we've became mare people. Because stallions require a lot more work to get them approved by the registry. And mares....well, BABIES!
UPLOADING PICTURES NOW.

Date: 2009-06-09 05:34 pm (UTC)Also, wow. It's a little weird to ask, but on how much would a Friesian cost? DON'T WORRY. I SWEAR IT'S THE SAME KIND OF QUESTIONS I ASK WHENEVER I GO TO A DOG BREEDER EXCEPT I DO NOT KNOW YOUR HORSE JARGON.
My uncle use to have horses, I think he bred them for racing.
